The loop around the lake of Tolla is one of the most accessible and photogenic walks in southern Corsica: 8.5 km of marked trail around the largest artificial lake on the island, with a crossing of the dam. Ideal as a family outing, to round off a hot day, or as a warm-up before more demanding hikes in the days that follow.

The route
From the water sports centre car park (toilets available), the trail follows the shores of the lake. You cross the Tolla dam (built in 1959-1960), framed by rocks, which holds back the waters of the Prunelli to form the largest artificial lake in Corsica. Several coves offer a swim stop in the marked areas. Sunset turns the water into a golden mirror, especially around 7-8 pm depending on the season.
Combining with other activities
- Before: kayaking on the lake from the water sports base (1 h).
- During: a picnic on a quiet shore.
- After: an aperitivo on the terrace of Le Relais U Machjonu, looking out over the lake you just walked around.
