Hiking around Ajaccio — Trails from lake to sea in southern Corsica
The Ajaccio region is one of the most diverse hiking playgrounds in Corsica: from sea level up to the 2,352 m of Monte Renoso, you cross maquis, chestnut forests, then laricio pine forest above 1,000 m and finally granite ridges — all in less than two hours by car. This section gathers our field-tested routes with elevation, duration, water points, difficulty levels and on-the-spot photos. You will also find our themed selections: shaded summer hikes, family-friendly trails with kids, lake-and-sea loops, and the iconic Pozzi plateau in Bastelica. Relais de Tolla is the ideal starting point for most of these trails — sleep on site, leave fresh in the morning, return for sunset on the lakeside terrace.
