Relais U Machjonu is a former stone chestnut-drying barn that has been transformed into a charming refuge and dormitory. Set at 600 m altitude in the village of Tolla, southern Corsica, it sits just 30 minutes from Ajaccio and the sea, facing lake Tolla and backed by the Renoso mountains. The place offers a fresh and authentic alternative to classic seaside accommodation: 10 beds in two dormitories, a panoramic terrace overlooking the lake, a shared library and the silence of the maquis. It hosts hikers, solo travellers seeking authenticity, couples on cool-weather escapes, as well as groups in full privatisation for company offsites, yoga retreats, or private events (birthdays, christenings, hen parties) up to about 50 guests. A simple half-board option is available on site. Beds from €32/night, privatisation from €400/night. Open all year.

History and concept
Relais U Machjonu is housed in a former stone chestnut-drying barn at the heart of Tolla village. The building, long used to process Corsican chestnuts, has been restored and turned into a charming dormitory: an authentic yet comfortable stopover halfway between Ajaccio and the high mountains. The project gathered a local team around personal welcome and an eco-responsible approach (local materials, low impact, short supply chain). Today, the Relais welcomes independent travellers, full-privatisation groups and partner coaches for yoga, pilates and wellbeing retreats throughout the season.
